My first DIY !!!

Well here we go. In celebration of Christmas in July I thought it was good to do something festive.. or not so festive.
So I've made Pillow Box Gift Boxes:] I used a pillow box template, made these out of card-stock, used a clear gel glue, (little amounts or the paper gets wavy;p) and then designed them to however I felt like.
Here are the pics starting with the template:

The flowers I drew on here in pencil and then traced with sharpie. I saw a print I really liked while browsing through pics and just re-created it. The To and From labels I did the same thing, just penciled it in then sharpie over it, with these I only placed glue in the middle (a line dividing To & From) so that they stuck off a little.
This pic shows a bit more complication, the gift box purse is actually easier than it seems but I only made 1 because I'm not into doing extra work as in creating the handle. The handle was just 2 pieces of card stock slightly varied (black in back pink in front) and then glued into the tab that closes the box **This step must be done when closing the box and gluing in the first place** Then I just used some scrap pink card-stock to create the stripes and the pink portion of the flower, did the same for black, and super-glued a gem in the center. After that i added the "stitched" looked with my black sharpie.
This Christmas tree one I just drew, traced in green sharpie, added cut pieces of red ribbon and then tied together a green and red ribbon around the pillow box.
At some point I felt rather creative and browsed through some online pictures, compiled what I saw in my head and produced this little gem. I realize not everyone will appreciate the drawing but I'm a big fan and someone out there will be like "Hey, I know someone artsy who would enjoy getting a gift in this box!" I also left it in pencil, so they could honestly just erase it, but it looks good this way.
The next few are super simple! Just card-stock pillow boxes and tulle, this tulle was super messy because the pink sparkles were everywhere!

Same as above but with black tulle:
And these are my favorite <3 I used a very light tan card-stock for the pillow box, then added To & From signs on the two in the second row with a matching ribbon to the tan and the stand out colors (one with green and one with blue)
Then for the front two boxes, I made card-stock bows! with these empty little plaques so people could write a personalize message and avoid buying a card or just write something like "Congrats!" Follow this link for directions on the bow: http://howaboutorange.blogspot.com/2013/04/how-to-make-paper-bow.html
The whole crew of pillow boxes. On my stove, I have a small house and craft in my kitchen, don't judge:p

Neglect!

That is what I've been doing to my blog, neglecting it. Poor blog, no worries I'm back;p

My Paparazzi launch parties are over (nothing happened Sunday, lol) My website is still not 100% complete (more like 10% complete.. yeah..) So with this said here is the overall results from my Paparazzi launch parties. $264, 1 basket party booked and 1 house party. I just received my July newsletter today and we have a little friendly competition for Paparazzi Facebook parties. So I posted today to let everyone know I'm trying out Paparazzi Facebook parties:] My Facebook rewards for hostess I whipped up: 1 free piece of adult Jewelry for every 12 adult pieces sold  and 1 free kid item for every 10 kid items sold. Also, 1 free piece for 20 buyers (sounds high but I'm not 100% sure how to do this Facebook Paparazzi party thing, I'm working out bugs as I go if I can get people involved!) And 1 free piece for every Paparazzi party booked (Facebook party, basket party, home party, open house style party.. you get the point.)

My current schedule of events includes:
July 12th: Basket Party
July 20th: Home Party
September 21st: Vendor Event in Shrewsbury, MO (app Pending)
November 16th: Vendor Event in Bloomington, IL (app Pending)

It's a small schedule but I'm trying! This is only the first day of week two.

Update on my Paparazzi display in the tattoo shop- contacted today to check up and sounds like no sales yet, but soon enough I'm sure stuff will start selling.

My plans next week (holiday tomorrow in my way):
Call and go to local Hair Saloons. I'm super nervous about this but I've got to get out there and get my name out there!
Get some Paparazzi Facebook Parties booked (hopefully I can arrange some this weekend!)

Time to go work on the website more!
AnyStyleAnytime.Storenvy.com

Also The Winner of the raffle from our launch party was Julie W. if you were curious (who has already been contacted.)

I have to switch to my other computer to upload my pics of the Sunday event.

Open House Results Saturday 6/29/2013

Well guess who left their cameras SD card hooked up to the computer at home? This Chick. So my camera, without a card can take 5 photos, enough to get some event pics. Guess who forgot to take pics at all. This chick.
And guess what?! I loved how my Paparazzi area looked! So freaking cute and I didn't document that! Well there is always next time:] I will be set up there again around in September when the town has town-wide garage sales.
Oh, and my expectations spelled out: Thursday- I assumed no one would come, Saturday I assumed we would be busy since we had the extra vendors, and Sunday I assume not many people will come unless the weather is treating me well and I set up outside
And how things have actually gone so far: Thursday- Best day yet:] made over half of what I thought I would. Saturday- Ouch, lets not talk about Saturday ;p Lol just kidding:] while it rained all morning, we actually had some family come out and shop which is always great to have the support. I also (after I broke down the booth) went out and got Paparazzi set up in a tattoo shop for awhile. Hopefully if the jewelry sells well they'll be willing to sign up themselves and make all the commissions from it (but who knows how this will move in a tattoo shop, however, the first three pieces sold was to the owner/manager and one other employee.) I'll keep everyone posted on this:]

I'm re-arranging my house now just in case I have to set up inside because of the weather. For those who don't know my house is really small:[ (probably like around 600 sq feet.) So I'm going to work with it to try and make it look like I can fit my Paparazzi in here:]

Fliers to post!

So many people loved this posting and the flower on the shoes pic:]
Because of this sign I sold extra jewelry just because they were 1 or 2 pieces away from the  12th jewelry piece where they get one more free to make 13:]

Late Post Much?

So I was going to post something when I received my Paparazzi kit, like pics of course! Lol xD I spent the entire night and morning taking inventory and pre-setting up displays. (I didn't go to bed until 7am!!!)

So then after work I was going to get on here and post some more information, and our computer crashed. Oops. So, now here I am, 3 days after my kit arrived and I'm just now posting about it. (Feels like I've had it longer) I had my first open house style party Thursday, 6/27/13 from 5pm-8pm. I wasn't expecting much turn out- but I have some support from friends and family that turned it into a great turnout! Don't forget to invite family to your Paparazzi parties!! Even if you think "Oh they won't wear it" they may surprise you or just want to support you.

So I had an unfortunately small amount of items displayed because I didn't realize how much space the jewelry would take up- silly me:p - so I only had about 26 of Paparazzi's necklaces displayed, most of the earrings I had (20 + all of the SS pieces), all of my bracelets except 1 (duplicate) displayed, half of my headbands and half of the bows, and all of the rings (which sold wonderfully.) My next set up is tomorrow, which I'm super excited because I think we will have ALOT more foot traffic since we have Thirty-one, Gourmet Kitchen, and a Tupperware vendor setting up:] I really want to sell alot, which I'm sure everyone does.. lol. and I want to book parties!

From my first event we brought in right under $200, and that was with 5 sales (a few other people showed up but said they wanted to come back Saturday since they would be paid Friday.) I also have 1 regular party booked and 1 basket party booked. I'm hoping to double what we did Thursday on this open house Tomorrow, fingers crossed:]

I have an awesome plan for my layout tomorrow so hopefully I can pull it off:] I'm going to go to start set-up at 6:30am (the other vendors will arrive at 7am, but my mom is the manager for the place that has the community room we are using) so I can re-arrange some furniture, and so I'm not blocking anyone elses set ups- they'll be able to pick space around the area I'll be at (no set places here, this isn't a paid for type of vendor event, just some consultants getting together and pulling in customers for each other and the public, hopefully, lol.) And I'm choosing to set up in the little cubby in the room, where there is a door that I want to have open to encourage people to walk right through my booth to  look around and get to other booths, or to leave out the door right by me and there is no way you can miss the jewelry:] (There are two doors to the community room that will be open, pretty much right next to each other, I'll just be hogging the one entrance/exit) I'll post some pics and let you know if I believe it increased my sales any:]

I felt really dis-organized on Thursday and was slightly all over the place ALOT:[ I need to learn to control myself xD lol. I hope tomorrow, even if it may be busier, that I'm atleast less crazy:] Did anyone else feel this way with party number 1? Well I'm sure I'll chillax after a few parties and get warmed up to the idea, hopefully:p lol:]

Check out my pics of my first Paparazzi event (with the little amount I displayed) and then with my event tomorrow morning I'll post new pics of how one party and alittle brainstorming can improve your layout alot:] And I'll have to get a better pic of the hair-clip tree I created, its a three tier vase holding hair clips. The bottom tier is just the vase itself, the middle tier is a Chip can (Pringles) and the top tier is a paper towel tube.

My Open Houses!

So maybe I'm going overboard with my Launch parties, but I'll be hosting 4! The first two in Bloomington, IL, Thursday 6/27 from 5pm-8pm and Saturday 6/29 8am until whenever (during garage sale time,) the third in the town I live in, Lincoln, IL, Sunday 6/30 4pm-7pm, and lastly my online launch party where I'll be opening the online store! Which will be a pain since I work two jobs that day! So I think I'll release it at midnight, then go to bed for work xD.

Also ignore my run-on sentences and grammar mistakes.. I'm really bad with my English classes, more of a science and math person, lol:]

I get my kit tomorrow and I'm going to start planning all the displays! Which I'm slightly worried about but it should go great, lol. I'm going to be posting pics of our "projects" that we do to get everything ready, here is a list of what we'll be doing:

Signage- Signs that we can re-use! So the dates and times a long with the arrows to point people my way will be stapled on the board, then removed and replaced for the next party!:] Saving Time and Money.

Displays- I have a pretty bulletin board  framed with a gold frame and with some pins (like sewing pins) to hold some "feature" jewelry.
Also, I found a DIY that was a bracelet holder made from toilet paper and paper-towel rolls, but there were to many complaints of the flimsy structure, so I'll be posting pics and updates on how to make it like a pro ;] Hopefully.. :]

Setting up rewards- I'm not 100% sure how I'll pull this one off, but I'm sure it'll turn out fine. I've got some great ideas from the Paparazzi community and I'm so thrilled how helpful everyone is! I saw a "Dice Game" which involves someone signing up for a party- then rolling the dice and getting that prize! With a big calendar for them to choose the date they want to host:] So I really want to do that! Prizes will remain secret for now ;P

Advertising- I've created a Facebook event and invited all my girly friends and even a lot of the guys on my list (gifts of course! However most won't show to my assumption) Since the Saturday event includes multiple vendors, they shared the post! have your friends and family share the post, let them know its for anyone to come! I'm debating checking up on a newspaper ad in the garage sale section since the Saturday one is a garage sale time, aimed for our garage sellers:]

I'm probably missing something. I'm listening to a Paparazzi training right this second while I type this up, and so many good ideas! I really want to be successful and do really great and I'm worried I won't meet my own expectations. So my few readers who can make it past my horrible English spelling and grammar, don't forget to stop by the events and host a party to help me kick start this business in a great direction:] Remember Free Jewelry:]
I'll probably post more tomorrow when I get my kit:D Mail please don't fail me!!

A Small Piece About Me

Hello, and thanks for reading. My name is Tiffany and I'm 20 years old. I've been married for two years. Most people would say I have no kids but I do have Louie (our 103lb dog) and he is our world. My husband, Tyler, works as an account manager for a company, and is hoping to get a promotion here soon, or maybe even switch jobs to a better paying one. Currently I'm working 2 jobs (pharmacy tech and vet assistant) and now I'm adding Paparazzi Accessories to the list! I do plan on leaving one of my other jobs shortly after my Paparazzi business kicks off :] So excited! (however, I don't even have my kit yet!)

I want to use this blog to share my experiences, and designs (or DIYs I've tried) so hopefully this can help you out somewhere down the line.

So here is a short story on how I became interested in Paparazzi Jewelry:
Honesty moment, I don't even wear jewelry except for my wedding ring, currently.  Obviously I plan to change this once my kit gets here.
I decided I wanted to sell to people when my hours at the pharmacy got slashed and cost me over $100 per paycheck (and the company just keeps cutting hours.) Now for the vet's office I only work about 10-15 hours per week there (and that's what I signed up for) but I love my job, and I start school in August to work towards my D. Veterinarian Medicine.
I found Paparazzi Jewelry when I did a massive search on individual consultant companies. I had a huge list of 100's of companies to search through and choose which one I may sign up with. I took anything off the list that had an average item price of $50 or more. I didn't necessarily want something easy, I just wanted to product to sell itself, because then people come back for more.
After hours and hours of checking websites out I narrowed it done to two companies, Paparazzi Jewelry and a storage solution company (which I still want to host a party for, lol.) I then started researching both companies, and ultimately decided Paparazzi was able to sell itself, with its cheap pricing and super cute products! I did my research, so before you decide to invest into a business, do your homework! By doing my research I found a blogger discussing how she found out about Paparazzi Jewelry, some real opinions on the product, and some links to additional websites that eventually got me in contact with a representative who gave me information about everything I wanted to know and more.
It took me a few paychecks to save the money to start up but here is how I saw it:
I was working two jobs (pharmacy for about a year and vet office for about 2 months) and my husband had finally gotten a job (he had been there a little over 2 months,) with all this I justified not using my vet paychecks for bills and extras anymore. We were use to living without much income from when Tyler was unemployed for so long, so now that he was making more weekly than I did in my two week paychecks, I decided it was time to start saving for Paparazzi! I saved my next three paychecks (bi-weekly pay) and put them in a new bank account (Tyler and I have always had 1 bank together.) With this money going to a bank we weren't use to having we would tend to not think about it, because if we did we may spend it! (Side note- If you have the problem of spending your money because you have it I highly recommend opening a new account for your Paparazzi business to be separate, I love it!) With my three paychecks (6 long weeks) I had $687.55 (and for some reason had extra hours and overtime paid- so unexpected larger paychecks, which are very welcome to show up whenever they feel like it) and I knew at this time I should order!
Now don't get me wrong I had plenty of money saved to order the Small Party starter kit ($300) and add on an additional $100 of products to get free shipping, but I really wanted the $700 kit that comes with 250 pieces of jewelry. So I made a phone call to my mother who was more than happy to help me achieve that goal (thank goodness for having a helping hand every once and while.) I added on some additional items (like the Starlett jewelry for little girls, a few display pieces, and things like the pens) which brought me to a total of a $900.xx order. Don't be scared of that number! No one has to put that much money towards the start-up of Paparazzi! I have huge plans though, and plan on earning that money back very quickly (and paying my mother back as well.) Just so you have a small idea of my launch party I'm hosting probably 4 total! (I'll hash these details out, as they un-fold, in a new blog post.)

Did I name this "A small piece about me".. I tend to get carried away :]
